Imam Sadiq (as) said: “God, the Exalted and Glorious, desired to maintain equality between His creatures and make the rich experience hunger and pain so that he may have pity on the weak and mercy on the hungry one.”
Everyday about 25,000 people die from hunger related causes – this amounts to 1 person every 3.5 seconds. With the holy month of Ramadhan 1431 just around the corner, NASIMCO and the World Federation are launching the Ramadhan Relief campaign. This annual initiative allows us all to play our role in reducing world hunger. By providing food rations, iftaars and cash gifts to those living in poverty, including orphans and widows, we can ensure that thousands of Muslims living in Afghanistan, Kenya, Madagascar, Tanzania, South Africa, Bangladesh, Bosnia, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Myan Mar, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Syria, Haiti, and Gaza are able to fast in peace.
